Has your initial gusto fizzled?

Mar 12 –  Has your initial gusto fizzled? Has some of your excitement about an initiative or goal waned?  Are you feeling less enthusiastic about the direction you are headed? Are you frustrated by some circumstances that have delayed or halted your progress?  If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, you also need to ask yourself if your confidence or doubt has had a role in diminishing some of the vigor that was so strong initially.

Whenever pursuing a goal, there is never any way to anticipate the obstacles or challenges that will be encountered as best as we try. When we encounter more than a few challenges, we can begin to question whether what we are trying to achieve is worth doing after all. We begin to doubt whether it is possible, or allow our own self-confidence to be in question. If you still truly desire to realize progress and success, then there always is something you can do to bring enthusiasm, excitement and progress back into being.

Take an MM&I Moment to awaken to why what you are trying to achieve was so exciting initially. List why you felt energized, encouraged and enthusiastic. Now list what has occurred that has caused you to feel frustrated, inhibited, stuck, less confident, or doubtful. Finally, with each item on your list that you perceive to be impacting your progress, list one positive action you can take, no matter how significant or trivial it may seem to you in doing. Then set forth to take each action to heart. Schedule one action to be done immediately and then another to be done immediately after that.  Then keep doing another action and another step. You will be amazed at what can be accomplished one intentional step at a time. Know that you can, and you will. Be inspired by your dreams. Believe that you can, and there is no stopping you.
