Are you saying or doing?

July 31 – Are you saying or doing? Are you talking about things you are going to do, but haven't actually done anything to move them forward? Do you tell others your intentions, and yet these intentions have remained possibilities with no effort towards doing what you said you were going to do? Are you well intentioned, but never seem to get to it? Do you find yourself continuously changing your timelines or deadlines because you cannot seem to focus on what you say you will get done? Do you feel your inaction is due to others not doing what they have promised they will do?

Your actions speak volumes in what are your priorities. If you are realizing inaction from someone else who is not doing as they had stated or promised, it is up to you to take charge and identify other options or alternatives. If it is you who is not doing, and only saying, then you need to understand why you are avoiding or hesitating. You need to decide what you are willing to accept, from yourself and from others. In either case, you are in complete control of your outcomes.

Take an MM&I Moment to awaken to doing by seizing control of your priorities. What are the reasons action is not being taken? What are the underlying concerns, doubts, or pressures that could be inhibiting progress or efforts? What are you most passionate about with regard to finally doing what you need or desire to be done? What difference will moving forward or beyond where you currently are make in your life or someone else's life? Embrace your words with action. Decide if there is another way to accomplish what is needed if someone else simply cannot or will not take action. Most important, confirm what is a priority for you, and then make it your priority through your actions. Your priorities are demonstrated by each action that you take and each choice that you make.

Wide Awake Quote of the Week

It is not enough to be well-intentioned; one must strive to put those intentions into action in a capable way. – Andrew Cohen
