What is procrastination costing you?

July 03 – What is procrastination costing you? Is it costing you late fees and last minutes expenses? Is it costing you peace of mind? Is it costing you a restful sleep? Is it costing you opportunities and profitability? Is it costing you credibility and trust? When you procrastinate, you are delaying what could be pivotal to you moving forward in small or bigger ways?  Do you hit the snooze button to start each day, or do you figuratively hit the snooze button to avoid handling a situation head on?

The sheer act of procrastination is guilt laden as you remind yourself of what needs to be done or what should be done and then it still doesn’t get done. Did you know that procrastination is estimated to cost the U.S. economy $70 billion annually according to the Guardian UK in Money Watch? What about the cost of your time, your brain power and your reputation?

Take an MM&I Moment to awaken to how procrastination is negatively impacting your life and work? Could you be earning more? How are you procrastinating that is impacting your earning potential? Could you be enjoying more? How is procrastinating limiting your enjoyment? Are you delaying a conversation or postponing tackling a tough situation? How much head space is consuming your ability to focus on other things as a result? Are others waiting on you to complete something that you keep putting off? How is that costing you in reputation and their confidence in you? Replace procrastination with an unwavering commitment to being unstoppable. Face it and embrace it.
