May 4 – Are you stuck in neutral? Is all the swirl of activity literally have your head spinning on what to focus on next? Are you overwhelmed with to-do’s, demands, obligations and expectations to the point of feeling caught in a whirlwind? Do you feel that despite some much happening, nothing is happening to your liking or satisfaction?
When you are in a place where everything feels to be pulling you in all directions, it is easy to feel stuck and overwhelmed by it all. When this happens, you are actually stuck in neutral, meaning, you cannot move any direction because all of them appear to be screaming for your attention. You become paralyzed by it all then you make it worse by being your own worst critic.
Take an MM&I Moment to reawaken your get-up-and-go and ability to push forward with intention and focus. First, look at all of your demands. Which of these demands are true commitments you have made versus obligations that have been imposed? Whose expectations are taking precedence over what is important to you? Can you reframe those expectations or let go of them altogether? What do you have on your plate that should really be passed to someone else entirely? Now that you have weeded out what really is not yours to take ownership in accomplishing, look at what remains. Prioritize based on what matters most to you, and begin whittling away at these want-to-do’s with renewed and invigorated focus and intention. When you free your mind to focus, you free your world of mayhem.
