May 12 – Has your initial gusto fizzled? Has some of your excitement about an initiative or goal waned? Are you feeling less enthusiastic about the direction you are headed? Are you frustrated by some circumstances that have delayed or halted your progress? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, you also need to ask yourself if your confidence or doubt has had a role in diminishing some of the vigor that was so strong initially.
Whenever pursuing a goal, there is never any way to anticipate the obstacles or challenges that will be encountered as best as we try. When we encounter more than a few challenges, we can begin to question whether what we are trying to achieve is worth doing after all, doubt whether it is possible, or allow our own self confidence to be in question. If you still truly desire to realize progress and success, then there always is something you can do to bring enthusiasm, excitement, and progress back into being.
Take an MM&I Moment to reawaken to why what you are trying to achieve was so exciting initially. List why you felt energized, encouraged, and enthusiastic. Now list what has occurred that has caused you to feel frustrated, inhibited, stuck, less confident, or doubtful. Finally, with each negative cause you perceive to be impacting your progress, list one positive action you can take, no matter how significant or trivial it may seem to you in doing. Then set forth to take each action to heart and schedule each one to be done immediately. Then do another and another. You will be amazed at what can be accomplished and what will result in shifting fizzle into dazzle. You can. You will. Believe.
