April 13, 2015 - Is hesitation telling you something? Is there something you keep putting off? Is there something you believe that you really want to do, yet you keep hesitating to pull the trigger and get it done? What is causing the hesitation? What is holding you back? Understanding why is important in order for you to know how to overcome your hesitancy and move forward. Could it be you lack confidence? Is it that you believe you lack time to execute the next steps? Could it be you are unsure for some reason? In many cases, that gut feeling that is causing you to hesitate is telling you something you need to hear. Seeking to understand your hesitation will help you not only find a solution, but enlighten you to the power you hold within to guide you intelligently and intuitively.
Take an MM&I Moment to explore why you are hesitating in this particular instance. Write down all thoughts related to how you are feeling and why you may be feeling this way. Write down what you view are your obstacles or challenges. Write down what you may be questioning that is causing the hesitation. After capturing these thoughts, review to see what you may not have been able to see before. What is the real underlying reason for your hesitation? Then decide what is the very next step you need to take to move forward, and then take it. In some cases, you may realize that your hesitation is because your heart and passion are not into this particular endeavor, and you decide to let it go once and for all. In other cases, you may discover that "aha," that missing insight or link that gives you what you need to move forward. Either way, you win, by shifting hesitation into clarity, confidence and renewed understanding or conviction.
