Oct 6, 2014 - Is your success costing you? Have you realized a level of success that you had been working toward, but it isn't as gratifying as you thought it would be? Is this creating a sense of disappointment, and you don't really understand why? Or is the success you have gained been to the sacrifice of something else important to you because you felt it was necessary in order to achieve this success? Success is a very personal, introspective aspect of life, yet we tend to measure success based on what others believe to be signs of success or measures of success.
Take an MM&I Moment to explore the possibility that the reason your success isn't as sweet as you thought it would be is because of someone else's or society's influence on you. Were you striving for this success to prove something to someone else? Were you striving for this success to make someone else happy or because you thought it would make you happy? Were you striving for this success out of an obligation you felt you needed to fulfill or complete? Our greatest gift to ourselves is to know intrinsically what success means to us individually, regardless of what others think or believe.
