July 29, 2013 - Are you thinking too much? Are you thinking through a particular situation to determine your next best step, and are finding yourself revisiting and reanalyzing things over and over again? Are you imagining all the possibilities of what might happen in a particular scenario, and are feeling overwhelmed by not knowing what is actually going to transpire? Are you spending time thinking about and lamenting about what you should do, could do, want to do, or wish you didn't have to do? Has more time passed you by and nothing has gotten done? If you answered "Yes" to any one of these questions, it is time to take action. What I mean by this is to get out of your head and get into doing something about whatever has you over-thinking and rethinking.
Take an MM&I Moment to turn your thinking into doing. Often, we only think about things and not do them because we are overwhelmed by what the doing entails, we fear what may happen unexpectedly, or we worry what others might think. Instead, focus merely on the very next step you can take toward turning your thoughts into action. Is it getting an answer you need? Is it getting advice that enables you to better focus? Is it getting support to help you move forward? Is it learning something to build your confidence? Whatever it is, make a commitment to yourself that with each thought, you will put some sort of action behind it. You will be amazed by the progress you will make and the satisfaction you will begin to realize by simply doing.
