July 1, 2013 - What are you proud of? Have you stopped lately to appreciate what you have accomplished? Do you give yourself enough credit for what you have overcome or the progress you are making? Too often we spend so much time focused on what we still need to get done that we don't take proper time to acknowledge and truly value what we have already done. The real value in taking this time is in what it helps us understand about ourselves that can make the next steps towards achievement easier. By understanding how and why you succeed, you can better reinforce success of future accomplishments.
Take an MM&I Moment to make a list of what you are proud of in some of your latest accomplishments, how you handled a particular challenge or how you overcame a particular obstacle. Then make some additional notes about what you believe were the critical success factors in each of these achievements. Keep this list with you to remind you and inspire you as you face new challenges and proceed towards achieving other goals. You may be surprised how it helps you think more clearly and make better decisions and choices. While learning from mistakes is always a good practice, learning from your achievements is also essential to making each success a bit easier to realize.

"The discipline you learn and the character you build from setting and achieving a goal can be more valuable than the achievement of the goal itself." - Bo Bennett
