June 4, 2012 – Wondering when it will get easier? Does it feel like everywhere you turn there is a challenge to overcome? Do you find yourself wondering when it will ever get easier to accomplish what you are trying to accomplish? Sometimes when we get on a frustration track, we also get stuck in only thinking about what is going wrong instead of what is going right. What this does is mentally convince you that everything is difficult only lending more to your frustration. The key with any challenge is in your thinking. No matter how dismal you might feel things are at the moment, there are things that are going right, that you can appreciate or that you can discover, to help you move beyond your current strife.
Take an MM&I Moment to list even the smallest of things that you appreciate right now or that are going right for you. Don’t worry about whether what you list relates to your current challenge or not. Just list them. Also think back to when things didn’t seem quite so challenging. List what was happening in your life that made things flow easier. Finally, consider those around you that appear to have things going their way, and you would like to have that same ease in getting things accomplished. Don’t view them from a standpoint of envy, but from a standpoint of discovery. What could you do that they are doing that would make the difference. If you don’t know, find out. The most important thing you can do in any challenging situation is to embrace it and discover from it in order to get through it. Transform your disappointment into determination and you will be amazed what transpires as a result.
